We are already counting down to the end of summer and I hope this season has included some fun away from the job to rest and relax! The WAPRO Board has been busy this summer gearing up for the Fall Conference, which is slated for October 25, 2018, at the Tacoma Convention Center. Our time together will include our annual business meeting, where we will elect new board members. If this is something you have considered, please feel free to reach out to myself or another board member to ask whatever questions you may have. We would love to have you submit your name.
In July, the WAPRO website got an upgrade, and if you haven’t had time to check it out yet, please do! We hope you will find it a bit more user-friendly and intuitive. We also rolled out a newly developed training for our law enforcement members to talk more about exemptions related specifically to the law enforcement field and how to apply them. We had a great time in Monroe and Spokane delivering the training and our hope is that it gave all those who attended some new insights.

I am always impressed with WAPRO members’ dedication to their work; whether we’re talking in person at a training, over the phone, or by email, members are consistently seeking to have the most up-to-date information to make the best decision possible for their agency and are committed to ongoing learning in an ever evolving field. WAPRO is committed to continuing to provide those opportunities for you to learn and to network with other public records professionals. If you have any suggestions on how we can do this better, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I hope to see you at the Fall Conference!
