While we are all enjoying the summer months and weather, the WAPRO Executive Board is working diligently in the background in preparation for the Fall Conference and its annual meeting of the WAPRO membership. One of the items that the membership will be considering for approval are changes to the WAPRO Bylaws.

The Bylaws set forth the rules that govern WAPRO and its operation, including rules and procedures for holding meetings, electing directors, appointing officers and taking care of other essential procedures. I am happy to say that WAPRO is growing and evolving and, accordingly, it is necessary to update and make amendments. In the coming weeks, the membership will be receiving a track changes version of the Bylaws for your consideration and review. In particular, we are proposing that Section 1 of Article IV regarding the terms of office for the President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer be extended to each serve two year terms. We believe this adds to the strength and efficiency of the Executive Board as the first year each officer is learning and understanding the processes and needs of the membership, preparations for conferences, webinars and smaller educational forums. We invite you to review the Bylaws prior to the fall conference as there are a number of changes to consider. In the meantime, stay cool as we enjoy the last month of summer and enter the cooler fall months.
